Location

Northern Kodiak Island, including the eastern portion of Kizhuyak Bay, Sharatin Bay, with the southern boundary bordering Center Mountain. See area map.

Topography and Habitat

Grass and cottonwoods flats along the lower elevations and river valleys. Dense alder on the steep slopes up to the alpine areas, that start at 1500'. Inland area is composed to low ridges and foothills intersected by numerous drainages.

Land Ownership

Lands around Kizhuyak Bay are Afognak Native Corporation lands, with some lands east of Sharatin Bay being Ouzinkie Native Corporation lands. The State manages the interior lands south of Elbow Creek.
