Alaska's Ecosystems

Alaska is the largest and least densely populated state in the country, with a reputation for scenic grandeur and bountiful fish and wildlife. From the dense moss carpeted rainforests of southeast Alaska, to the wide-open expanses of the tundra on the North Slope these ecosystems and provide habitat for a variety of fish and wildlife species. Understanding and protecting ecosystems is critical to understanding and protecting the distribution, abundance and habits of our fish and wildlife.
