Stranded, Dead or Orphaned Wildlife
I found an orphaned, dead, sick, or stranded animal - Now what?
If you find a bird or other animal that is orphaned, dead, sick, injured, or stranded, please use the links below for more information and to report it. Do not approach or touch a wild animal even if you think it needs your help; even a docile-looking animal can bite or scratch you, and they can carry diseases. Also, females will leave their young behind for a variety of reasons and come back for them later. Therefore, please leave the animal in the wild and use the links in the following pages to notify the proper authorities. Thank you for your concern for Alaska’s wildlife.
