Alaska Department of Fish and Game
Parasites and Diseases
Veterinary Services
Sustaining Alaska's wildlife requires an understanding and management of various diseases, parasites and pathogens, and to ensure that those not native to Alaska's wildlife are not spread within the state. The department's Wildlife Veterinarian provides veterinary services to humanely capture and study wildlife; he or she routinely works with department staff on projects such as the health status of moose, caribou, and Dall sheep.
