Regulations for the Yakutat area and the rest of the state can be found online via the link below "fishing regulations", or hard copies can be obtained at most local tackle and outdoor stores in Alaska.

Freshwater

  • Coho angling on the Situk River was more difficult this last week due to high water flows
  • By mid week the Situk flows have lowered some but more rain is in the forecast
  • Look to the smaller streams on the forelands when the water is high for coho
  • Most all of the pink salmon are well past spawning now
  • Tsiu River angling has been great all year
  • Eastern foreland streams have just now begun to produce lots of coho for fly out anglers

Saltwater

  • Coho trolling is good in all areas of Yakutat Bay
  • The lagoon waters at Ankau and Village Lagoons are also producing some nice coho action
  • Halibut angling has slowed a bit as anglers are beginning to focus on salmon
  • Lingcod angling has remained consistently good all year
