Freshwater

  • Coho have moved into all rivers on the Forelands in fair to excellent numbers
  • Hot and clear weather has made the angling a bit difficult in mid day
  • Tsiu River anglers report great fishing especially just after the high tides
  • East foreland streams like the Akwe and Italio have been a bit spotty, but have begun to produce coho consistently late this last week
  • Situk River anglers now find fish throughout the system with new bright fish coming in on the high tides at the lower end
  • Dolly Varden in spawning colors are particularly abundant in the mid sections of the Situk River

Saltwater

  • Coho trolling is good in mid-bay waters and up in the coves
  • Coho are also being caught from shore at bay stream mouths at high tide
  • Halibut angling is also remaining strong with most boats bringing in medium to large fish
  • Anglers who prefer rockfish have found good angling over reef points and peaks out in the mid-bay and by Ocean Cape
