Situk Steelhead

Steelhead entry has ceased
All fish are heading out now, or in the final stages of spawning
Steelhead are still present in the upper river
Steelhead appear to be larger than normal in the weir samples
The weir count is up to ~ 4000 fish so far

Chinook trolling

Chinook catches in the bay have been slow
Most fish are being caught well up inside the bay
Some days produce fish outside the bay also but that area is spottier
Chinook are on the smaller side so far this year.

Halibut and lingcod

Halibut catches remain good
Most boats are getting limits
Some charter boat anglers are choosing to use GAFF fish so that an extra large fish can be harvested
Lingcod and rockfish catches have also been good
More black rockfish were landed last week

Cutthroat and Dolly Varden

Dolly Varden are abundant in all sections of the Situk River
The confluence hole of the Old Situk and the steelhead spawning stretch below that are some of the best locations
Cutthroat trout are beginning to move into their summer time habitats
Cutthroats in summer will be in holes with woody debris cover
Foreland streams like Akwe, and Domme River are good cutthroat
