Freshwater

 

  • Sockeye salmon numbers peaked at almost 4,500 fish in one night last week
  • Good numbers of sockeye continue to enter the lower Situk River
  • Water conditions are very low as of mid week but rain is expected soon
  • Italio River anglers report fair numbers of sockeye, and some chum salmon
  • East River and Dry Bay area anglers also report good numbers of sockeye
  • Chinook salmon angling on the Situk River is closed due to low abundance

Saltwater

 

  • Coho numbers are beginning to pick up out in Yakutat Bay waters
  • Halibut angling is still consistent and some larger fish were brought in last week
  • Lingcod angling remains productive for those targeting those big greenlings
  • An occasional Chinook salmon is still being caught, but for the most part Chinook salmon angling is poor
  • Varied mixes of rockfish bag limits are also coming in with most charter boats
  • Shore fishing for pink salmon has begun to be productive in the Ankau lagoon area
