Chinook update

  • Chinook angling in the bay has been tough due to weather
  • Those that have boats capable of getting outside the bay can find some Chinook but few are inside
  • What few fish are inside are likely in by Knight Island

Steelhead Update

  • Steelhead angling was thwarted last week by high water
  • Situk River temperatures have warmed up and very little snow is left
  • Access is good to all points on the river below 9 mile Bridge
  • Accessing the upper river requires a hike upstream from the 9 Mile Bridge, or an icy drive up to the Situk Lake trailhead, which is not advisable at this time
  • No fish have been reported in the lower river
