Situk Steelhead

 

  • Fish continue to enter on every tide
  • Many spawners are heading out now
  • Very high water has occurred and the river is difficult to fish
  • Water flows will remain high through the weekend


Marine angling

 

  • Chinook angling was good last week
  • Chinook were caught off of Ocean Cape, and in the Island waters
  • Many boats picked up limits of Chinook for all anglers
  • Halibut angling was good
  • Few rockfish were brought in last week but most anglers were trolling for salmon


Trout and Dollies

 

  • Many dollies in large schools are now found moving down stream in the lower Situk
  • Scattered packs of Dollies are also still spread out in the Situk at steelhead spawning sites
  • Cutthroat trout have moved up into spawning tributaries for now
