Freshwater

  • Sockeye salmon have moved into all rivers on The Forelands
  • Situk River angling is reportedly good in all upper and middle stretches and excellent in the lower river
  • Large numbers of big Dolly Varden are also present in most parts of the Situk River
  • King salmon angling in the Akwe and East rivers has been fair but spotty
  • A few early pink salmon have come into anglers on the Situk River

Saltwater

  • Halibut angling is still good out of Yakutat Bay
  • Some dogfish have begun to show up in ocean catches
  • Rockfish angling was reportedly very good last week
  • Many anglers found mixed bag limits of both pelagic and non pelagic rockfish last week
  • Chinook angling is very slow and no coho have been reported as of yet in Yakutat Bay catches
  • Ankau Lagoon anglers have reported some early pink and some sockeye in those waters
