Small Game Hunting (2-part class)

Session I — Ptarmigan, grouse, and hare can make a tasty dinner. Learn where to find them and what equipment you'll need. Learn how to care for, and field-dress small game. We will also share some of our favorite recipes to get you started.

Session II — Learn to identify small game species and their preferred habitats. Participants will have the opportunity to venture into the field with Small Game Biologist, Rick Merizon, to observe hare, grouse and ptarmigan habitat.

Step into Shotgun

Learn the fundamentals of shooting at moving targets. Our instructors will have you breaking clay birds in no time. We welcome those 10 and older for this class.

Introduction to Chainsaws

Getting to know your chainsaw and how it works is an important part of learning how to properly use this power tool. This class will teach you the anatomy of a chainsaw, how to take it apart and put it back together, how to service it and what models are best for what. You'll also learn about limbing, trimming, bucking and felling a tree — all with safety in mind. Our instructors will cover the importance of using the right fuel and oil mixture, how to check the tool before each use, and proper handling. We welcome those 18 and over for this class.
