Float Trips

Float plane on the water Access to the fisheries of the Kuskokwim area is by air or boat. There is scheduled jet service to Bethel from Anchorage, and scheduled commuter air service to many of the smaller communities in the area. There are air charter operations in Bethel, Aniak, McGrath, and Dillingham that provide air taxi service to many of the popular sport fishing locations in the area. Most of the popular sport fisheries in the area are accessed by either fly-in float trips, or by chartered riverboat service. There are also outfitting and guiding services available that can provide equipment rental and air charter, with or without guiding services.

Because weather can often limit the ability of small aircraft to fly, visitors planning on remote fly-in and fly-out trips should be prepared for the possibility of delays, and plan their schedules accordingly.
