Little Donna Lake Cabin

View of the cabinThe Little Donna Lake cabin is located on the north shore of Little Donna Lake, approximately 30 miles southeast of Delta junction just east of the Gerstle River. Amenities: Little Donna Lake cabin sleeps six adults and is equipped with plywood bunks, chairs, a table, wood stove, broom and dustpan, shovel, smoke/carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, outdoor fire ring, picnic table, and nearby outhouse.

Directions: GPS Coordinates: Latitude: N 63.7648 Longitude: W 144.8909 The cabin is accessed by an ATV trail that begins at MP 1391.8 of the Alaska Highway. There is a large parking area on the south side of the highway with a double-ended turnout and an ATV/snowmachine loading ramp. Follow the ATV trail starting at the west end of the parking lot to the first ADF&G cabin at Donna Lake (3.6 miles) then continue for another 1.3 miles to the cabin on Little Donna Lake (4.9 miles total). Sections of the trail traverse low-lying areas that can be muddy and rutted. Multiple trails exist in these sections that can make travel and navigation difficult. Please note, off-road vehicles exceeding 1,500 pounds may require a permit from ADNR.

Special Notes: Pets are allowed but should be under your control, and you are responsible for cleaning up your pet waste. Be aware that unmarked traplines may be present along trails. Trap Safety for Pet Owners.

What to bring:What to Bring: Cabin users should bring a sleeping bag and pad, food, cookware, dishes, utensils, cooking stove and fuel, matches, lighters, paper fire starters, first aid items, insect repellent, plastic trash bags, firewood (maximum length of 17 inches), axe, flashlight, lantern, water or some way to purify water onsite, and 2 AA batteries for the smoke/carbon monoxide detector.
