Reminder: Deadline Approaches for Alaska Board of Game Proposed Changes to Statewide and Central/Southwest Region Regulations

(Juneau) — The Alaska Board of Game reminds Alaskans that the May 1 deadline is fast approaching for proposed regulations changes pertaining to hunting, trapping, and the use of game for the Central/Southwest Region, statewide regulations, and areas of jurisdiction for antlerless moose hunts.

The board issued its 2017-2018 Call for Proposals on January 20, 2017, for Game Management Units 9, 10, 11, 13, 14A, 14B, 16, and 17 in the Central/Southwest Region, and for specific regulations having statewide applicability under 5 AAC Chapter 92, and 5 AAC 98.005, areas of jurisdiction for antlerless moose seasons.

The attached Call for Proposals lists all regulations open to change. Proposals may be submitted online, or by mail or fax at:

Proposals must be received by Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Boards Support Section office in Juneau. A postmark is NOT sufficient for timely receipt.

The Call for Proposals, proposal forms, and the board's meeting schedule are available on the Board of Game website at: www.boardofgame.adfg.alaska.gov or at any Boards Support office. Responsive proposals received by the proposal deadline will be considered by the Board of Game at the Statewide Regulations Meeting scheduled for November 2017 in Anchorage, and the Central/Southwest Meeting in February 2018 in Dillingham. Final proposals will be available for the public on the board's website by September 2017.

Completed proposal forms must contain a contact telephone number and address. Email addresses are appreciated. Please print or type the individual's or organization's name as appropriate.
