Invasive Species — Rock Dove (Columba livia)

The Rock Dove is native to western and southern Europe, North Africa, and south Asia. Its domesticated form has been widely introduced elsewhere, and is common, especially in cities, over much of the world.

Habitat Preference

In the wild, the rock dove’s natural habitat is cliff faces, usually on coasts. In urban areas, it typically nests on ledges and windowsills of tall buildings.
