Hunting Conditions

RM 585 1) Season Dates: Dec. 1 - Dec. 31 2) Open Areas: Unit 17B and 17C, except the Iowithla River drainage, and within one half mile either side of the Aleknagik Lake Road (between Dillingham and Aleknagik). 3) Bag Limit: 1 antlered bull 4) Reporting: -Permittees harvesting a moose from the area south of Lake Aleknagik and west of the Wood River must phone a hunt report (at 907-842-2334) within 24 hours of killing the moose. -Successful hunters must return their hunt report card within 5 days of kill. -Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt must return their report cards 15 days after the season end. 5) Remember -You may kill only one (1) moose per regulatory year. -You must carry your permit with you while you are hunting. 6) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT: If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Draw, Tier II or Registration, including Tier I Nelchina caribou) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.
