Walrus Tracking Maps Archive

Over the last ten days we received transmissions from 7 walruses (2 male and 5 female). Both males are near Wrangel Island and the females are distributed near Wrangel Island, the central Chukchi Sea, and Hanna Shoal. Clouds in the southern Beaufort Sea have again obstructed MODIS satellite images over the last week. Therefore, we plotted the walrus tracks over sea ice concentration data available from the National Ice Center (http://www.natice.noaa.gov/).
