Requested Tracking Map
During the last 10 days we have received locations for 4 spotted seals. Spotted seal SS18-01-M (orange circle) has left the Amguyema River, between Vankarem and Cape Schmidt, Russia, and has moved to north of Vankarem. Spotted seal SS18-03-F (teal circle) left the central Chukchi Sea, returned to the barrier islands near Point Lay, and is now moving north along Chukchi Sea coast. The remaining two spotted seals are in the Bering Sea, generally between the mouth of the Yukon River and Scammon Bay. Sea ice data are courtesy of the U.S. National Ice Center, dated 20 August (http://www.natice.noaa.gov/products/daily_products.html).
