Hunting Conditions

RM 587

1) SEASON DATES: Sept. 5 - Sept. 15

2) OPEN AREA: Subunit 17B, the portions extending two miles on either side of, and including, the following rivers: Nushagak River, beginning at the southern boundary of Unit 17B and extending north to the Chichitnok River, and including Harris Creek, Klutuspak Creek, King Salmon River and the Chichitnok River; Mulchatna River upstream to the mouth of the Chilchitna; Nuyakuk River extending west up to the falls; Koktuli River up to the mouth of the Swan River; and Stuyahok River to the confluence of the North/South Forks.

3) BAG LIMIT: One (1) Bull moose with antlers at least 50 inches, or at least 4 brow tines on at least one side.

4) NON-RESIDENT ORIENTATION REQUIRED: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=moosehunting.nonresident_orientation. Hunters are required to carry their hunt orientation card with them while hunting.

-Successful hunters must report online, by mail or in person or by phone to Dillingham (907-842-2334) within 5 days of kill.
-Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt must report online, by mail or in person to Dillingham within 15 days of close of season.

-You may kill only one (1) moose per regulatory year.
-You must carry your permit with you while you are hunting.

If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Draw, Targeted, Tier II, or Registration, including Tier I Nelchina caribou) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.
