Hunting Conditions
Season: Sept 1 – Sept 20.
Legal Animal: Bull with 50-inch antlers or antlers with 4 or more brow tines on at least one side OR Antlerless, taking calves or cows accompanied by calves is prohibited.
Hunt Area: Bison Range Youth Hunt Controlled Use Area consisting of the - Panoramic and Gerstle fields of the Delta Junction Bison Range located south of the Alaska Highway between MP1393 and MP1408.
Maps identifying the hunt area are online at http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=huntingmaps.main. A copy of this map will be included in your informational packet.
The area is open to moose hunting by permit only and is closed to motorized vehicles for all hunting.
Requirements:
* Each permittee must be accompanied in the field by a licensed Alaska resident adult at least 21 years old.
* The nonresident youth's accompanying RESIDENT adult MUST be a parent, stepparent, or legal guardian.
* Bag limit counts against the bag limit of BOTH the permittee and the accompanying adult.
* Each permittee will be assigned a 4-day hunt period determined by order drawn.
* Permittees and accompanying adults must wear hunter orange vests.
* Motorized vehicles are restricted in the hunt area.
* Hunter education is REQUIRED for the youth hunter.
* Additional hunter education requirements may apply for the accompanying adult.
* Only one moose per lifetime allowed for this hunt.
* All hunters must check-out with Delta ADF&G in person or by phone (907-895-4484) before leaving the hunt area.
