Access Information

Fishing on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson requires, in addition to a valid State of Alaska fishing license, a Recreational Access Permit. Permits may be obtained online, or at kiosks located in both JBER visitor's centers.

  • Directions: From Ft. Rich/Arctic Valley gate drive straight on "D" Street 2.2 miles. Turn right onto Otter Lake Road and continue 2.3 miles on the dirt road. Continue straight where the road turns into Route Bravo for 4.5 miles. Turn right at the three-way intersection onto Artillary Road (there is a sign that reads “To All Lakes?”). Follow road for 4.4 miles then turn left towards the lake (turn at sign that reads “Walden Lake”).
