Northeast Kenai Peninsula
Wildlife Viewing
The scenic Seward Highway is designated as an All American Highway, recognizing the road is a destination in itself. Leaving Anchorage behind and traveling the length of Turnagain Arm, Seward Highway passes the turn-off into Portage Glacier before climbing to alpine lakes and following the salmon-filled streams back down toward the shore.
Past Summit Lake, look for the Sterling Highway cut-off and travel alongside the Kenai River into the heart of the peninsula. Drive the road, float the river, paddle the lakes, scan the slopes, hike the trails and have fun.
