Permits

The Matanuska Valley Moose Range and Jonesville Public Use Area (JPUA) is open to most public uses, provided the activity does not damage the range’s resources, disturb wildlife, or disrupt existing public uses. Allowed activities generally include hunting, trapping, fishing, wildlife watching, hiking, boating, snow machining, and camping. If participating in hunting, trapping, or fishing, please obtain a license from ADF&G.

Additional land use activities are regulated by the Department of Natural Resources. You can contact their Public Information Center to determine if your proposed activity requires a permit or lease.
