Alaska Bears in Communities

The Alaska Bears in Communities (ABC) Program is a program offered to local elementary schools. Students learn about bears, bear safety and ways to help bears by being responsible neighbors. The ABC Program is a partnership between the Alaska Department of Fish & Game and the work of volunteers.

Get Involved! This is a great opportunity to visit your local school classrooms in Juneau or Sitka and teach about Alaska's bears. Volunteers will make use of ADF&G lesson plans and teaching resources. Training is provided and required by ADF&G prior to giving your first presentation.
