Saltwater Fishing
King salmon are available around Prince of Wales year around, but catch rates will be slow during the fall and early winter. Halibut, lingcod and rockfish fishing can still be productive.
Freshwater Fishing
Coho salmon are currently present in good numbers in the Klawock River, however, the majority of fish are blush or red as they near spawning. Coho salmon in the other drainages on the island are beginning to spawn. The following lakes and associated stream drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage. Fall steelhead will begin to enter freshwater in late November.
