Prince of Wales Island

Freshwater Fishing
Steelhead are present in the majority of drainages on the island. The Harris, Klawock, Thorne and Karta rivers, and Eagle, Ratz, Staney creeks currently have good numbers of steelhead. The following lakes and associated stream drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red Bay Lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage.
Saltwater Fishing
Feeder king salmon are present in the marine waters around Prince of Wales. Halibut and rockfish are available, while lingcod season is closed through May 15.
