Freshwater Fishing
Spring steelhead are starting to arrive with sporadic catches recently reported in several drainages. It is still early and steelhead fishing will be most productive after mid April. Rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing is currently good. The following lakes and associated stream drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red Bay Lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage.
Saltwater Fishing
Feeder king salmon are present in the marine waters around Prince of Wales. Halibut and rockfish are available, while lingcod season is closed through May 15.
