Saltwater Fishing
Coho salmon fishing is past the peak and slow in marine waters around Prince of Wales as the majority of fish have entered freshwaters. King salmon are available around Prince of Wales year around, but catch rates will be slow during the fall. Halibut, lingcod and rockfish fishing is currently good.
Freshwater Fishing
Good numbers of coho salmon are currently present in the freshwaters of Prince of Wales including the Thorne, Karta, Klawock and Harris rivers, Eagle, Staney and Hatchery creeks. The following lakes and associated stream drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage.
