Saltwater Fishing
- King salmon are available in inside and outside marine waters around Prince of Wales with fair catches reported. King salmon catches will likely decline through the remainder of the summer. Coho salmon fishing is currently good and should remain so through August. Hatchery raised king salmon are still present in Port St Nicholas and Coffman Cove. Halibut, lingcod and rockfish fishing is currently good.
Freshwater Fishing
- Sockeye salmon are present in freshwaters such as the Thorne, Karta and Sarkar rivers, Eagle and Hatchery creeks. Summer run coho are available at Neck Creek, while fall run coho and pink salmon are starting to appear in freshwaters. The following lakes and associated stream drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red Bay lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage.
