Greater Yellowlegs
(Tringa melanoleuca)
Management
The Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act is currently protecting the Greater Yellowlegs in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Russia, and Japan. The Alaska Migratory Bird Co-Management Council (made up of The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and representatives of Alaska's Native populations) develop recommendations for subsistence harvest of migratory birds in the state.
