Hunting Conditions

1) WHEN: STATE HUNTERS: Alaska residents: Aug. 24 - 28 and Sept. 8 - 17. Nonresidents: Sept. 8 - 17. FEDERALLY QUALIFIED SUBSISTENCE HUNTERS: Aug. 20 - Sept. 30.

2) WHERE: Unit 20E except that portion of the Middle Fork of the Fortymile River upstream from and including Joseph Creek drainage. FEDERALLY QUALIFIED SUBSISTENCE HUNTERS: Federal lands in Unit 20E, excluding the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve and that portion of the Middle Fork of the Fortymile River upstream from and including the Joseph Creek drainage.

3) BAG LIMIT: Alaska residents and federally qualified subsistence hunters: One bull moose. Nonresidents: One bull moose with 50-inch antlers or antlers with four or more brow tines on at least one side. Evidence of sex must remain attached to the hindquarter.

4) REPORTING: Successful hunters: Report within 15 days of kill by reporting a) online (http://hunt.alaska.gov) or b) by phone (907-883-2971) AND returning completed permit report card in person or by mail (postage required) to Tok ADF&G. Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt: Report no later than 15 days after the close of season by a) reporting online at http://hunt.alaska.gov) or b) by returning completed permit report card in person or by mail to Tok ADF&G.

5) REMEMBER: You may not possess RC860 (Fortymile caribou permit) & RM865 (this permit) at the same time!

6) WHO QUALIFIES: Alaska residents and nonresidents.

7) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT: If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Drawing, Targeted,Tier II, or Registration, including Tier I Nelchina Caribou) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.

8) PROXY HUNTING PROHIBITED: Proxy hunting is prohibited in RM865.

9) RESTRICTIONS: Parts of this hunt area fall within the Ladue River and Glacier Mountain Controlled Use Areas, and the Mosquito Fork of the Fortymile River Drainage, where motorized transportation for hunting is restricted:
- In the Ladue River Controlled Use Area, the use of any motorized land vehicle for hunting, including the transportation of hunters, their hunting gear, and/or parts of game, is prohibited from August 24 - September 20. However, this does not prohibit motorized access, the transportation of hunters and gear, or the transportation of game on the U.S./Canada border, the Liberty Creek Trail, the Boundary Cutoff of the Taylor Highway, or the Nine Mile Trail. Motorized use on the Nine Mile Trail is strictly restricted to the single primary ATV corridor (originating at 63° 24.233' N, 142° 28.422' W and terminating at 63° 32.420' N, 141° 27.995' W), including connected bypasses under 20 feet wide. Additionally, these restrictions do not apply to the transportation into the area of game meat that has been processed for human consumption.
- The Glacier Mountain Controlled Use Area is closed to any motorized vehicle for hunting, including transportation of hunters, their hunting gear, and/or parts of game, during July 26-Sept 20.
- The use of any motorized land vehicle greater than 1,500 lbs. for hunting moose under an RM865 permit, including the transportation of hunters, their hunting gear, and/or parts of game, is prohibited from August 1-September 30, within the portion of the Mosquito Fork of the Fortymile River drainage between, but not including, the Kechumstuck Creek drainage and the drainage of the northern tributary which flows into the Mosquito Fork at 63° 57.82' N, 143° 17.29' W. This restriction does not apply on the Kechumstuk Trail, the Square Lake Trail and that portion of the Mitchels Ranch Trail east of the Mosquito Fork.
