Hunting Conditions

1) WHEN: STATE HUNTERS: Alaska residents: Aug. 20 - Sept. 17. Nonresidents: Aug. 20 - Sept. 17.
FEDERALLY QUALIFIED SUBSISTENCE HUNTERS: Aug. 20 - Sept. 20.

2) WHERE: that portion of Unit 12 within the Nabesna River drainage west of the east bank of the Nabesna River
upstream from the southern boundary of the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge and that portion of Unit 11 east of the east bank of
the Copper River upstream from and east of the east bank of the Slana River.
FEDERALLY QUALIFIED SUBSISTENCE HUNTERS: Federal lands within the hunt area.

3) BAG LIMIT: RESIDENTS: One bull moose with spike fork or 50-inch antlers or antlers with 3 or more brow tines on at least one
side. NONRESIDENTS: One bull moose with 50-inch antlers or antlers with 3 or more brow tines on at least one side.
FEDERALLY QUALIFIED SUBSISTENCE HUNTERS: One antlered bull.

4) REPORTING: All hunters must report within 15 days of close of season. Complete permit hunt report online (http://hunt.alaska.gov) or
return completed permit report card in person or by mail (postage required) to Tok ADF&G.

5) REMEMBER: Evidence of sex must remain attached to the hindquarter.

6) WHO QUALIFIES: Alaska residents, nonresidents, and federally qualified subsistence hunters. Only federally qualified
subsistence hunters are allowed to hunt in the National Park.

7) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT: If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Draw, Targeted, Tier II, or
Registration, including Tier I Nelchina Caribou) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the
Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.

8) PROXY HUNTING PROHIBITED: Proxy hunting is prohibited in RM291. Federal designated hunter permits are available from
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve.

9) MOTORIZED VEHICLE USE RESTRICTED: Contact National Park Service at 907-822-7401.
