Successful Hunters
- Report within 15 day of kill. Complete permit hunt report online (hunt.alaska.gov) or return permit report card to Fairbanks ADF&G.

Hunting Conditions
**Permits for this hunt will only be issued if the department identifies moose that are injured or creating a nuisance and in an area where the moose may be safely harvested. The number of permits issued is generally very low and in most years no permits are issued.**
1) WHEN:
Selected hunters will be assigned specific hunt dates.
2) WHERE:
The department will direct the selected hunter to a specific area within Units 20A or 20B to harvest the targeted moose.
3) BAG LIMIT:
One (1) moose. The department will provide guidance on which moose to harvest. If you have harvested a moose anywhere in the state since July 1
you may not participate in this hunt.
4) REPORTING:
Successful: report within 1 day of kill; Unsuccessful: report no later than 3 days after assigned hunt period. Complete permit hunt report online
(http://hunt.alaska.gov) or return completed permit report card by mail or in person to Fairbanks ADF&G.
5) REMEMBER:
Hunt-specific orange vests will be issued at the time of hunt area assignment and must be worn on outside of garments while hunting. Hunters may
only use shotguns (12-gauge or larger) with slugs, bow and arrow, or crossbow to harvest moose.
6) WHO QUALIFIES:
Alaska residents only. Basic hunter education requirements apply to this hunt since it is in Unit 20 (see page 13 of the Alaska Hunting Regulations).
In addition, regardless of age, ALL applicants hunting with a shotgun are required to have successfully completed a certified state hunter education
program prior to applying for this hunt. ALL applicants hunting with bow and arrow are required to have successfully completed a department
approved bow hunter certification course. ALL applicants hunting with a crossbow are required to have successfully completed a department approved
crossbow certification course.
7) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT:
If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (Drawing, Targeted, Tier II, or Registration, including Tier I Nelchina Caribou) during
the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.
