Homer Airport — Critical Habitat Area
Area Overview

Homer Airport Located within the City of Homer on the southern Kenai Peninsula and adjacent to the city's airport, this Critical Habitat Area protects approximately 280 acres of state land, mostly wetlands located within the Beluga Wetlands Complex. As the state's most recently created wildlife refuge (established in 1996), it provides important habitat for over a hundred species of birds and provides critical winter habitat for the local moose population.
