The Alaska Bycatch Review Task Force (ABRT) completed their work in November of 2022 and provided a report to the Governor. Included in that report were recommendations in three areas; state engagement, research and management.

The Alaska Bycatch Advisory Council (BAC) was formed by ADF&G Commissioner Doug Vincent-Lang in the spring of 2023 to review the ABRT recommendations and advise on priorities and issues.
