Yellow-billed Loon (Gavia adamsii)
Management

The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is responsible for the management of yellow-billed loons. This species is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The State of Alaska is involved in the conservation and management of the yellow-billed loon. In 2006, the State of Alaska and USFWS, along with other Federal agencies and the North Slope Borough, developed a Conservation Agreement for yellow-billed loons in northern and western Alaska. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is a part of the Alaska Migratory Bird Co-Management Council, which develops recommendations for subsistence harvest of birds in Alaska.
