Run Forecasts and Harvest Projections for 2026 Alaska Salmon Fisheries and Review of the 2025 Season Published
(Juneau) – The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announces publication of the annual statewide salmon run forecast and commercial harvest projection report: Run Forecasts and Harvest Projections for 2026 Alaska Salmon Fisheries and Review of the 2025 Season. (PDF 3,771 kB)
The Alaska all-species salmon harvest for 2025 totaled approximately 197.4 million fish. This harvest was composed of 52.7 million sockeye, 120 million pink, 21.7 million chum, 2.7 million coho, and 201,000 Chinook salmon. While the 2025 pink salmon harvest was well distributed across Southeast, Central, and Westward regions, Bristol Bay continued to be the largest sockeye salmon producing area in Alaska.
The 2026 commercial salmon harvest forecast is 56 million pink, 49.7 million sockeye, 17.2 million chum, and 2.4 million coho salmon. If realized, the forecasted 2026 total Alaska commercial salmon harvest will be approximately 125.5 million fish.
