Ice Seal Tracking Maps Archive

During the last 18 days we have received locations for 3 bearded and 3 spotted seals. Two of the tagged seals are in the central Bering Sea, near remnant sea ice. The other four seals are in coastal waters of Norton Sound and Anadyr Gulf. Skies over the Bering Sea were cloudy during the last week, obstructing a clear satellite image. Therefore, we used sea ice data courtesy of the U.S. National Ice Center and dated 22 May (http://www.natice.noaa.gov/products/).
