Requested Tracking Map
During the last 14 days we have received locations for 2 bearded seals, 1 ringed seal, and 3 spotted seals. Five of the six tagged seals are in the Bering Sea, from Norton Sound south to the ice edge, between St. Paul and St. Matthew islands. The one ringed seal (RS16-02-M, red line) has moved north, through Bering Strait, into the Chukchi Sea. Sea ice data are courtesy of the NASA Rapid Response Network, dated 20 April (https://earthdata.nasa.gov/earth-observation-data/near-real-time/rapid-response/modis-subsets).
