Ice Seal Tracking Maps Archive
01/01/2017 – 01/09/2017

During the last 9 days we have received locations for 5 bearded seals, 2 ringed seals, and 9 spotted seals. One bearded seal, BS16-05-F (red square), is still located in the Beaufort Sea, along the coastline of northern Alaska, west of Kaktovik. Two spotted seals, SS16-01-F (orange circle) and SS16-05-M (blue circle), and one ringed seal, RS16-02-M (red triangle), are located in Chukchi Sea. The remaining seals are south of the Bering Strait and range, east to west, from Norton Sound to Anadyr Gulf, and south to Bristol Bay. Sea ice data are courtesy of the U.S. National Ice Center and dated 9 January (http://www.natice.noaa.gov/products/).
