Requested Tracking Map
Over the last fourteen days we have not received any transmissions from tagged ringed seal. This does not necessarily mean the tagged seals have died. The satellite tags (SPOT tags) attached to these ringed seals were fitted to their hind flippers and do not return many locations when seals swim through open water for long periods of time. The tag’s antenna may have also broken off or the tags may have stopped functioning. The attached map shows the paths taken by the ringed seals from the day they were tagged (2–5 June 2012) near Hooper Bay through their last successfully transmitted location. If we receive any new locations from these tags we will update the map.
