2012 Alaska Chinook Salmon Symposium Chinook Salmon Gap Analysis

A draft analysis of Chinook Salmon knowledge gaps was developed by ADF&G scientists and made available October 8, 2012. The document – draft Gap Analysis – was the result of the team’s initial efforts and was intended to serve as a starting point toward ultimately developing and implementing a research plan to understand observed trends in productivity and abundance of this important resource for Alaskans. The analysis proposed indicator stocks to monitor statewide trends, identified knowledge gaps for each stock and across stocks, and recommended projects to fill those gaps.

The input from the symposium as well as the Gap Analysis assisted in drafting the long-term Chinook Salmon Research Plan.
