Hunting Conditions
1) PERMIT: The RC205 permit shall be in possession of the permittee while hunting or transporting caribou and shall be presented to any person authorized to enforce state or federal laws who requests to see it. The permit is NONTRANSFERABLE.
2) WHEN: The RC205 permit is valid from:
-Residents: August 1 - September 30 and from November 15 - March 31
-Nonresidents: August 1 - September 30 and from November 15 - December 31,
or until closed by emergency order. Quota to be announced.
3) WHERE: Unit 10, Unimak Island
4) BAG LIMIT: The bag limit for this hunt is three (3) caribou, however this permit is only valid for the taking of one (1) caribou, a second and third RC205 permit is required if you want to harvest three (3) caribou total. Evidence of sex must remain naturally attached to a rear hindquarter. Antlers should not be relied on to identify a legal animal. More information about the characteristics used to distinguish between bulls and cows are available at hunt.alaska.gov.
5) SUCCESSFUL hunters: Report kill within 2 days of kill by phone (907-246-3340), or online at hunt.alaska.gov.
UNSUCCESSFUL hunters or permittees who DID NOT HUNT: Return the completed harvest report in person, online at http://hunt.alaska.gov, or by mail within 15 days of the close of season.
6) PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO REPORT: If you fail to report, you will not be eligible to receive any permits (drawing, tier I, tier II, targeted, and registration) during the next regulatory year. In addition, your name will be turned over to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for enforcement action.
