Pink Salmon

Description

In July, pink salmon return to the Ketchikan area in large numbers.  Anglers can expect good catch rates from July through early August whether fishing from a boat or shoreline.  Popular shoreline spots to fish for pink salmon are Mountain Point and Thomas Basin.  Typically these aggressive fish will bite on medium sized spinners, spoons and flies.  Bright  colored flies or lures seem to work best.  Anglers are allowed to keep six pink salmon per day 16 inches or longer and 10 pink salmon per day less than 16 inches.
