Fishing Opportunities
Cutthroat trout
Description
Anglers wanting to target cutthroat trout should consider chartering a flight to one of many US Forest Service cabins (http://www.recreation.gov/) in the Ketchikan management area. Many lakes in the area are managed to ensure production of large cutthroat; as a result, fishing regulations in these lakes are relatively conservative. In most of these lakes, cutthroat must be at least 14 inches in length. Six lakes (Manzanita, Humpback, Patching, Orchard, Reflection, and Wilson lakes) in the area are managed to produce ‘trophy’ cutthroat trout, with a minimum size requirement of 25 inches and a bag and possession limit of one fish.
