Week of July 6 to July 12

Fresh waters

King Salmon

Naknek and Alagnak drainages:

  • Sport fishing is currently reported as good in the Naknek and fair in the Alagnak. Sport fishing should continue to be fair to good throughout this week.

Nushagak drainages:

  • Sport fishing is currently reported as fair.
  • The sonar near Portage Creek is operational and 79,393 kings have been counted by the sonar through July 5. This is nearly 3 days ahead of desired levels. Management will be in accordance with the Nushagak/Mulchatna King Salmon Management Plan. Anglers should call (907) 842-2427 for regulatory updates.

Togiak River and nearby drainages:

  • Sport fishing is currently reported as very good and should continue to be good throughout this week.

Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Arctic Grayling

Naknek and Alagnak drainages:

  • Fishing is reported as fair for rainbow trout.

Togiak River and nearby drainages:

  • Sport fishing for Dolly Varden, rainbow trout, and Arctic grayling should be fair to good.

Wood River Lakes system:

  • Fishing is reported as good.

Northern Pike

Naknek and Alagnak drainages:

  • Fishing is reported as fair.

Wood River Lake system:

  • Fishing is fair along lake and slough shores and in shallow weedy bays.

Salt waters

Halibut

Nushagak Bay

  • Fishing should be fair off the coast of Protection Point.
