Salmon - Kenai & Kasilof Rivers
- Fishing for silver salmon on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers is excellent. Anglers are achieving bag limits throughout both rivers. All indications are that coho are late this year. Fishing for coho will continue to be good for the next few weeks into October.
- Fishing for sockeye salmon on the lower Kenai is winding down. Fishing continues to be productive with fishing being the most successful just below Skilak Lake to Bings Landing; however, most fish have turned and are approaching spawning phase. A few bright fish can still be found. Fishing for sockeye should die off over the next week.
- Fishing for sockeye salmon in the Upper Kenai and Russian River Rivers is slowing as fish begin to spawn. Most fish have turned and are approaching spawning phase. Reminder: fishing for sockeye salmon in the Russian River and confluence area CLOSED Sunday, August 20, 2017.
Resident Fish - Kenai & Kasilof Rivers
- Fishing for rainbow trout and Dolly Varden is excellent with king and red salmon spawning. Fishing should be good for the next few weeks into October.
Lake Fishing
- Lake fishing for rainbow trout has been good.
Northern Pike
- All public accessible lakes on the Peninsula have had invasive pike removed.
