(Dillingham) - The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) is prohibiting sport fishing between ADF&G regulatory markers around the Alagnak River counting towers in the Alagnak River drainage, effective 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 4 through 11:59 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023.

“Sport fishing near the Alagnak River counting towers is prohibited in order to reduce the potential for disruption of data collection. Sport fishing activity near the counting towers tends to spook salmon and makes the counting of fish difficult for department staff,” stated Area Management Biologist Lee Borden.
