Online Fishing Forum: Cooking Your Catch and New “Beyond the Catch” Series Launch

(Statewide) - Are you tired of the same old baked salmon dish that you eat every week? Are you looking for some creative recipe ideas to impress your guests with during the holidays? If so, this is the perfect fishing forum for you! The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Division of Sport Fish, will be hosting an online fishing forum titled, “Cooking Your Catch” on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game YouTube channel. This 47-minute fishing forum will give you new creative ideas for cooking some of the fish and shellfish that you have in your freezer from this summer. It will also cover prepping and cooking tips to ensure you have the best quality sport caught fish or shellfish from field to table. The presentation will be available on YouTube on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. ADF&G staff will be available to answer any questions in real-time on the YouTube chat from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m. and will be available to reply to questions in the comments following the presentation. The presentation will then remain on the ADF&G YouTube channel and can be viewed any time after the premiere.

Following this fishing forum, the Division of Sport Fish will be launching weekly short (1-2 minute) cooking videos on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 p.m. Be sure to subscribe to our channel to catch all the latest videos! During this holiday season, we encourage you to give the gift of a 2022 Alaska sport fishing license so you can get out and fish for all the great species we will show you how to cook in this “Beyond the Catch” series!
